Southern Highlands Breast Cancer Support Group is a strong network of people supporting each other through, and beyond, their breast cancer journey. It is hosted by Gestalt Therapist and Counsellor and two times cancer survivor, Lesley McPherson. Due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, we have been unable to meet for some weeks. However, as soon as we are able, we will gather once again to share our stories and support one another. If anyone is interested in conducting our meetings via ZOOM, please do contact me and I will do my best to facilitate it.
Southern Highlands Breast Cancer Support Group
This is a non-gender specific group that provides an open, supportive, non-judgemental, educative and informative space in which to share experiences, concerns, anxieties and success stories. Within the group, we share our fears, our challenges and our triumphs. This is an environment where we can be simply be heard and offer support and courage to one another.
There is no fee to join this group and attend our meetings. As a breast cancer survivor, and thriver, I am committed to supporting others in their journey. While I will be facilitating the group, it remains with group members to determine group rules and expectations and even meeting frequency, timing and venues.
Our Venue
The Mittagong RSL Club has kindly contributed private space for us to meet. I am most grateful for the club members’ support. Please check with reception which room the meeting will be in, as this may alter each meeting. Group participants are welcome to purchase a tea, coffee or a cool drink from the venue. All are welcome and no booking is necessary.
Our Timings
Our intention is to meet every 4th Wednesday of each month. Of course, life frequently gets in the way, and with the current COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, it has been tricky to gather. If anyone is interested in conducting our meetings via ZOOM, please do contact me and I will do my best to facilitate it.
Wherever you are in your breast cancer journey, you are welcome to join us. As soon as we are able to gather again in person, I will be sure to update you!
